Job Summary
The Supply Chain and Inventory Forecasting and Planning Manager is responsible for leading the development and execution of demand forecasting, inventory planning, and supply chain strategies. This role involves ensuring that inventory levels are optimized to meet customer demand while minimizing costs and maximizing efficiency.The manager works closely with various departments, including procurement, sales, and production, to align supply chain activities with the companys overall business goals.
Key Responsibilities
Demand Forecasting:
Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts using historical data, market trends, and sales inputs.
Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to incorporate promotional activities and market conditions into forecasts.
Continuously improve forecasting accuracy through data analysis and the implementation of best practices.
Inventory Planning
Develop and execute inventory strategies to ensure optimal stock levels that meet customer demand while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
Monitor and adjust inventory targets based on changes in demand, lead times, and supply constraints.
Implement and manage inventory control processes, including safety stock levels and reorder points.
Supply Chain Planning
Coordinate with procurement and production teams to align supply chain activities with demand forecasts and inventory plans.
Oversee the planning of production schedules, material requirements, and logistics to ensure timely delivery of products.
Manage relationships with suppliers and third-party logistics providers to optimize the flow of goods and materials.
Process Optimization
Identify opportunities to improve supply chain processes, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.
Lead cross-functional projects to implement new technologies, tools, and methodologies that enhance supply chain performance.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to forecasting, inventory levels, and supply chain efficiency, and develop action plans to address gaps.
Risk Management
Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential supply chain disruptions, such as supplier issues or changes in market conditions.
Ensure that contingency plans are in place for critical supply chain functions.
Reporting And Analysis
Prepare regular reports on demand forecasts, inventory levels, and supply chain performance for senior management.
Analyze data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement within the supply chain.
Provide insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Masters degree in Supply Chain Management or MBA is preferred.
Experience
Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in supply chain management, with a focus on demand forecasting and inventory planning.
Proven experience in a managerial or leadership role within supply chain operations.
Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions.
Proficiency in supply chain management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments.
Strong Project Management Abilities, With Experience Leading Cross-functional Initiatives.
Ability to adapt to changing business conditions and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Certifications (Preferred)
Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), or similar certifications.
Working Conditions
