Testing Engineer

Job Description

Qualification: BE Electrical

• Conduct electrical, mechanical, and environmental tests on transformers to evaluate their performance, safety, and durability.
• Perform high-voltage tests, dielectric tests, insulation resistance tests, and other related assessments.
• Verify the transformer's functionality under different load conditions, including short circuit tests, temperature rise tests, and load loss tests.
• Set up and calibrate test equipment to ensure accurate measurements.
• Maintain and troubleshoot testing machines and equipment to ensure reliable results.
• Record and analyze test results, identifying any deviations from standards.
• Prepare comprehensive test reports, including observations, conclusions, and recommendations for improvements.
• Document test procedures and results for quality assurance and compliance purposes.
• Ensure that transformers comply with industry standards and customer specifications.
• Work closely with the design and production teams to provide feedback on potential design improvements based on test findings.
• Help in investigating and resolving any product defects or failures.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards, procedures, and regulations during testing.
• Ensure transformers meet all regulatory requirements (e.g., IEC, ANSI, or UL standards).
• Work with regulatory bodies and certification agencies as necessary.
• Troubleshoot issues identified during testing, working with engineering teams to find solutions.
• Identify root causes for transformer malfunctions or underperformance.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives related to testing and product quality.
• Contribute to the development of new testing methods or the improvement of existing ones.
