Job Description

Role Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic AVP/VP of Finance to join our leadership team. The ideal candidate should bring 6-10 years of comprehensive financial management experience. Candidates will be highly considered if they have either:

1. Served as the Finance Lead at a funded startup, overseeing multiple successful fundraising rounds from seed to Series B/C, ensuring seamless financial operations and strategic execution throughout each stage. Or
2. Led deal execution as a team lead in a Big 4 firm, specialising in Private Equity/Venture Capital (PE/VC) late-stage transactions, with deep expertise in financial due diligence (FDD) and cross-functional team management.

This role will be pivotal in ensuring financial excellence across our portfolio and internal operations, providing strategic insights to the Managing Partners, and enabling smooth execution of financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the financial strategy for Transition VC and its portfolio startups, ensuringalignment with overall growth objectives.
• Develop financial models to support investment decisions and operational planning.
• Collaborate with leadership teams to provide actionable insights, enabling strategic scaling.
• Provide hands-on support to portfolio companies during fundraising rounds, from Series A onwards.
• Oversee capital budgeting and debt financing for portfolio startups, ensuring effective resource allocation and facilitating debt fundraising efforts.
• Lead comprehensive due diligence processes, preparing investor-ready financial documents, presentations, and detailed reports for management prior to investment decisions.
• Help establish robust financial controls, reporting mechanisms, and governance frameworks across Transition VC and its portfolio companies.
• Liaise with secretarial diligence teams to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes for both Transition VC and its portfolio companies.
• Drive the development of MIS reporting and oversee yearly budgeting for portfolio startups and the fund.
• Monitor portfolio companies performance, identify risks, and recommend corrective actions.
• Work closely with founders and key stakeholders to optimize financial health and operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

• CA, CFA, MBA (Finance), or equivalent qualifications

About Transition VC:

Through our portfolio, we aim to enable the offset of 40 million tons of CO2approximately 1% of India's total annual carbon emissions.
