we are looking candidate for Backup & Storage Admin L2 role , who have experience in HPDP & Networker
Requirements
4-6 years of experience in storage and backup administration, with a focus on Data Protector backup tool and HP storage solutions.
This role may require occasional on-call availability and after-hours work.
Relevant certifications such as HP ASE - Storage Solutions Architect, HP ATP - Data Protector, or equivalent are a plus.
Hands-on experience with tape and media management in a data center environment.
Proficiency in Data Protector backup software administration and configuration.
Experience with HP storage solutions such as 3PAR, StoreOnce, and StoreVirtual.
Familiarity with tape libraries, tape drives, and media management processes.
The Storage & Backup L2 Engineer will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and support of storage and backup systems in the data center.
This role will primarily focus on managing Data Protector backup tools and HP storage solutions, including tape and media management. The engineers will work closely with other IT teams to ensure data integrity, availability, and compliance with backup policies and procedures.
Administer and maintain storage arrays and backup systems, including installation,configuration, and troubleshooting.
Perform routine backups and restores, ensuring data integrity and availability.
Manage tape libraries and media, including labelling, rotation, and offsite storage.
Configure and maintain Data Protector backup software to meet business requirements.
Monitor backup jobs, troubleshoot failures, and optimize backup performance.
Upgrade and patch Data Protector software as needed.
Manage HP storage systems, including SAN and NAS environments.
Provision storage resources, allocate LUNs, and optimize storage utilization.
Monitor storage performance and capacity, and implement capacity planning as needed.
Maintain an inventory of tapes and media, ensuring proper handling and storage.
Perform regular audits of tape inventory and verify data integrity.
Coordinate with vendors for tape recycling and disposal.
Respond to storage and backup incidents, troubleshoot issues, and implement resolutions.
Conduct root cause analysis for recurring problems and implement corrective actions.
Document incidents, resolutions, and procedures in the knowledge base.
Ensure backup and storage systems comply with security policies and industry regulations.
Implement data encryption, access controls, and other security measures as required.
Participate in security audits and compliance assessments.
Maintain accurate documentation of storage and backup configurations, procedures, and policies.
Generate regular reports on backup status, storage utilization, and performance metrics.
Provide recommendations for improving storage and backup operations.
