Job Purpose
Responsible for overall upkeep of books of accounts, managing reconciliations and assisting in monthly closure of accounts.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable (AR) Management & Accounts Payable (AP) Management- Manage the full AP cycle, including receipt of invoices, tracking payments, coordinating with outsourced service provider and maintaining accurate records.
- Work closely with vendors to resolve any billing issues or disputes and perform SOA reconciliations
- Perform sales reconciliations, collaborate with business stakeholders for shortages and proactively follow up on outstanding balances to ensure timely collections.
- Analyze aging reports and implement strategies to minimize overdue balances.
General Ledger (GL) Entries:
- Prepare and post daily, weekly, and monthly GL entries.
- Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded in the GL.
- Reconcile GL accounts and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Assist in maintaining an organized and up-to-date chart of accounts.
- Inter-company reconciliations
Monthly Financial Closing:
- Lead the monthly financial close process, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
- Ensure all balance sheet accounts are reconciled and discrepancies are addressed.
- Collaborate with the finance team to prepare monthly financial statements and reports.
Product Costing:
- Analyze product costs, develop and maintain standard costing for products and services.
- Provide insights and recommendations to improve cost efficiency.
- Support pricing strategies by providing accurate costing data.
Financial Reporting & Compliance:
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with reporting standards.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and external regulations.
- Participate in audits and assist with the preparation of audit schedules.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to streamline and improve accounting processes.
- Implement best practices to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations.
- Provide mentorship and support to junior accounting staff.
- Bachelor's in Commerce or equivalent qualification
- Completion of Cost Accountancy OR Semi Qualified CA's are a plus
- Minimum 3-4 years of Accounting experience
- Experience in F&B | Retail | FMCG industry is a plus
