• Manage infrastructure cost saving/uplfit initiatives within WPB IT, responsible for the appropriate programme deliverables, stakeholder management and program administatation
• Work with stakeholders to agree project/programme strategy and objectives. Strengthen stakeholder relationships using relationship management skills/tools to responsibly influence decisions and stakeholder advocacy
• Review /challenge proposed architecture pulic and on-prem solutions, to ensure solutions are cost effective whilst meeting requirements
• Simply the processes to enable teams to design their own public cloud solutions and estinate their costs accordingly. Produce/review business case for migrations as required
• Drive an own your own infra mentality, upskillng teams and using data to drive decisions
• Drive deliveries forwards whilst ensuring effective partnering between stakeholders
• Ensure good governance, timely/accurate reporting and management of risks, producing weekly and monthly reports to senior managers and stakeholders where required.
• Setup and/or manage multiple work streams depending on their size and complexity
• Manage a predominantly virtual team of infra FTE. Set the strategic direction for the teams and ensure adequate solutions are utilised by effectively managing conflicting and shifting priorities.
• Act as escalation proint for all Cloud issues the teams are unable to resolve themselves.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

• Extensive technical/architecture background with substantial knowledge of technology platforms and infrastructure (Data Centre, Server, Networks, Storage, Database, Desktops, Monitoring, Virtualisation, Public Cloud (AWS and GCP), CI/CD etc).
• Broad knowledge of Public Cloud operational processes and extensive network of contacts in HSBC
• Proven experience in identifying and delivering large financial saving initistaives ($m's pa.)
• Proven experience in migrating services to Public Cloud (ideally AWS and GCP)
• Strong architecture knowledge
• Strong knowledge of infrastructure in general including Operating System, Clustering, Storage, network, CI/CD pipelines etc
• Proven problem solver who can work on their own or inclusively taking ownership when required. Able to take a hands on/off view when managing problems.
• Proven manager with experience of managing physical /virtual teams (located locally and remotely) across the globe.
• Proven Relationship Management skills, within an infrastructure, layered software and application management space.
• Experience of navigating infrastructure processes (for example project delivery, procurement and service delivery).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to translate technical details into easily understood and consumable data/reports.
• Have an automation/change mentality and strive for constant improvements via automated processes
• Have a keen interest in the latest technology and an eagerness to learn
