Project Site Engineer - Electrical

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Site Supervision: Supervise electrical works on-site, ensuring that all activities are carried out according to the project's design, schedule, and safety standards.
• Installation Management: Oversee the installation of electrical systems, including wiring, lighting, power distribution, transformers, generators, and other electrical components, ensuring compliance with project specifications.
• Quality Control: Ensure that all electrical installations meet the required quality standards and pass all inspections. Conduct site inspections, tests, and verifications on the work completed.
• Safety Compliance: Ensure all electrical works on-site comply with health and safety regulations, conducting risk assessments and ensuring safe work practices.
• Material Management: Work closely with the procurement team to ensure the timely supply of materials, tools, and equipment needed for electrical installations. Maintain accurate records of materials used on-site.
• Coordination with Teams: Collaborate with other site engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure smooth integration of electrical systems with other building systems (HVAC, plumbing, etc.).
• Technical Support: Provide technical support to the team, answering questions related to electrical design and installation methods. Resolve on-site technical issues related to electrical systems.
• Project Documentation: Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, including site reports, progress reports, electrical drawings, and compliance certificates.
• Testing & Commissioning: Manage the testing and commissioning of electrical systems, ensuring that systems are fully functional and compliant with safety standards before handover.
• Budget & Schedule Management: Assist in monitoring and managing the electrical portion of the project budget, ensuring that electrical work is completed on time and within the allocated budget.
• Liaison with Clients & Consultants: Act as the point of contact for electrical-related matters with clients, consultants, and other stakeholders. Provide progress updates and address any concerns or issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience (3-5 years) as an Electrical Engineer, preferably in the construction or project-based environment.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including power distribution, wiring, transformers, and electrical safety standards.
• Familiarity with electrical design software and tools (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.).
• Excellent knowledge of local electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with contractors, clients, and cross-functional teams.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects under tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with testing and commissioning procedures for electrical systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Professional certification or membership in electrical engineering societies (e.g., IEEE, IET) is a plus.
• Knowledge of renewable energy systems (solar, wind, etc.) is a plus.
• Experience in large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
• Prior experience with project management tools or software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
