Project Manager Construction, AWS Data Center Capacity Delivery

Key job responsibilities
This role within the Construction Management team will work on the quality assurance for the projects in the Mumbai region. The person will be responsible for the following :- Set the right quality protocols and strategy in line with Amazon requirement
- Establish the right protocols with the General contractors and review the GC QA process
- Periodically audit and check the adherence of the GC to the agreed quality processes
- Identify, document, track, review and communicate to internal stakeholders on the status of quality assurance at all sites.
- Work with APJC region to cross pollinate ideas and mechanisms as part of continuous improvement
- Conduct quality inspections at sites to review construction quality and take proactive steps to prevent defects.
- This role will report into the Head of India Construction for Data Centers.
A day in the life
AWS Construction Managers lead the delivery of our Data Center projects. They work closely with Internal Stakeholders and Contractors, resolving project issues, managing RFIs, Change Orders and other key delivery functions. Our CMs spend the majority of the week on site working closely with our vendors to drive project outcomes.

- 10-12 years of work experience in design, construction or program management in mission critical facilities.
- Be able to read and interpret construction related drawings for all disciplines.
- Have at least 1-2 years experience in managing quality assurance processes related to construction projects• Experience directly related to the design or construction of large data center facilities, either colocation or client owned/operated.
- Knowledge of Indian and local building codes and regulations including Fire Codes, Building Codes, Energy Efficiency Codes, Sanitary Codes and Safety Codes.
- Certified auditor for construction projects
- Previous vendor and contractor/subcontractor negotiation and management skills associated with construction and project execution.
- Experience with fast track design/build projects and or multiple significant upgrade projects. •Knowledge of Indian and local building codes and regulations including Fire Codes, Building Codes, Energy Efficiency Codes, Sanitary Codes and Safety Codes.
