Overview:
Under minimal direction, coordinates and supports system related software for departmental specific applications, including upgrades and implementations. Functions as a Project Lead for system efforts. Ensures the integrity, maintenance and security of the Corporate Applications.
Responsibilities:
- Provides Project leadership for all system upgrades and implementations affecting the Corporate Applications to ensure appropriate resources are included, time lines are defined and met and Business Unit needs are addressed.
- Maintains partnerships with various Corporate Business Units and IT departments to ensure efficient functioning of interdepartmental processes.
- Manages efforts for the research and testing of software updates, patches and new applications to determine the impact on other systems and ensuring application is kept currents
- Reviews and makes recommendations on internal customer requirements to ensure that corporate business needs are addressed in order to achieve business initiatives.
- Recommends efforts and solutions that align with the strategic direction of Paychex. Evaluates alternatives and explores the adaptation of policies, procedures, standards, techniques, and system solutions to meet specific needs and provide for the best internal customer solutions. Assists in evaluating Business Unit requirements for complex technology and business initiatives and ensures ‘best practices are utilized where possible.
- Provides leadership and guides decisions relating to workflow, process improvement, application development and business practices to streamline business operations.
- Functions as a key Application Expert having knowledge of the application for the purpose of keeping the application sound for the users and the infrastructure.
- Provides technical and professional mentorship to less senior Analysts in the department. Facilitates team collaboration and acts as Subject Matter Expert for the team.
- Serves as Key Liaison for 3rd party vendors and consultants to develop / implement system enhancements and act as Point of Contact for issue resolution
- Troubleshoots systems issues encountered by users and works with 3rd Level Support teams to ensure a timely resolution. Provides technical support to 1st/2nd Level Support for training and communication as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or Computer Science
- 8 years of experience in IT System experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
