Job Summary:

An Intensivist is a specialized physician who focuses on the care of critically ill patients, typically in an ICU (Intensive Care Unit). This role involves making life-saving decisions, managing complex conditions, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to critically ill patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide medical care to critically ill patients, including those with respiratory failure, organ dysfunction, or severe trauma.
• Monitor and manage patients conditions in the ICU, using ventilators, dialysis, and other life-saving treatments.
• Conduct diagnostic evaluations and interpret critical care tests to inform treatment decisions.
• Collaborate with surgical, nursing, and other healthcare teams to ensure the best care for ICU patients.
• Administer medications and treatments, adjust as necessary, and manage medical devices for life support.
• Educate patients families about critical conditions, treatment plans, and recovery options.
• Lead and supervise junior medical staff and residents in the ICU.
• Ensure the proper documentation of all patient information, including treatment protocols, and report outcomes.
• Stay current with the latest developments in critical care medicine and provide mentorship to medical staff.
