Financial Analyst, Customer Experience and Business Trends

Are you Customer obsessed, eager to create opportunities and influence business decisions to improve the customer experience across our different Amazon businesses? Amazon is looking to hire a Financial Analyst to support the Capability Team within Customer Experience and Business Trends (CXBT).

Key job responsibilities

The person in this position will:
  • Discover, track, and evaluate global industry trends
  • Perform in-depth analysis of financial and other business performance data, marketplace trends and competitive forces to understand financial, business, operational, or customer implications
  • Translate complex or ambiguous business problem statements into analysis requirements, design custom financial and strategic studies
  • Partner with various finance verticals to ensure procedures and controls are routinely applied whist performing accounting and operation
  • Measuring and monitoring of metrics for new business initiatives
  • Develop understanding of Amazon financial metrics, strategy, and long-term thinking to guide recommendations for improvements
  • Develop processes, reports, or tools that can scale, automate, or improve financial insights
  • Ensure appropriate financial policies, procedures, and internal controls are in place, documented, and operating as intended
  • Write, debug SQL queries and highlight issues and resolve them timely

An ideal candidate should have the ability to work closely with cross functional teams to effectively ideate, prioritize and execute improvement programs based on team and customer needs. The individual must be self-driven and have the capability and confidence to interface effectively with senior leaders and multiple stakeholders across geographies.

Customer Experience and Business Trends (CXBT) is an organization made up of a diverse suite of functions dedicated to deeply understand and improve customer experience, globally. We are a team of builders that develop products, services, ideas, and various ways of leveraging data to influence product and service offerings - for almost every business at Amazon - for every customer (e.g., consumers, developers, sellers/brands, employees, investors, streamers, gamers).

Our approach is based on determining the customer need, along with problem solving, and we work backwards from there. We use technical and non-technical approaches and stay aware of industry and business trends. We are a global team made up of diverse set of profiles, skills, and backgrounds - including: Product Managers, Software Developers, Computer Vision experts, Solutions Architects, Data Scientists, Business Intelligence Engineers, Business Analysts, Risk Managers, and more.- 2+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
  • 2+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
  • Experience using data to influence business decisions- 2+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
  • Experience summarizing and communicating important data
