Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Credit Management & Policy Development
- Design and enforce robust credit control policies and procedures tailored to business needs.
- Assess the creditworthiness of clients through financial analysis, credit reports, and payment histories.
- Establish and review credit limits and payment terms for clients, ensuring alignment with company goals.
- Collections & Risk Mitigation
- Drive timely collection of receivables to sustain positive cash flow.
- Regularly monitor accounts receivable to identify overdue accounts and take appropriate recovery actions.
- Proactively mitigate bad debt risks through comprehensive credit assessment and effective recovery strategies.
- Oversee the entire collection process till the time of recovery.
- Coordinate with the legal team for timely recovery and legal notices.
- Stakeholder Collaboration & Team Leadership
- Partner with sales, finance, and operations teams to align credit practices with overall business objectives.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the credit control team to enhance efficiency and achieve performance goals.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to negotiate payment terms and resolve disputes effectively.
- Reporting & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with local financial and legal regulations, including GST and other statutory requirements.
- Provide periodic reports and insights on accounts receivable, credit risks, and collection metrics to senior management.
- Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes impacting credit control practices.
The Successful Applicant
Qualifications & Skills:
Educational Background:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Advanced qualifications such as CA, CPA, CMA, or an MBA in Finance are strongly preferred. Professional Experience:
- A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in credit control, accounts receivable, or financial management.
- Prior experience in the NBFC/Fintech/e-commerce industry is highly desirable.
Technical & Interpersonal Skills:
- Proficiency in Tally and familiarity with other ERP systems or financial tools is essential.
- Strong understanding of credit analysis, financial risk management, and regulatory compliance.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
