Job Description
Job Summary:This is a Mortgage Underwriting support process which involves a complete analysis of the loan parameters and the borrowers details pertaining to Income, credit and assets.
Candidate shall be responsible for rendering decisions on credit applications based on established criteria. Determine creditworthiness, risk associated with borrower based on credit profile and Income worthiness (Income analysis) of the borrower.Communicate decisions that most effectively mitigate credit risks, including data integrity and validity of information submitted. Applies understanding of established guidelines, Fair Lending and all other regulatory requirements when evaluating loan attributes while utilizing prudent underwriting judgment and experience.
Responsibilities: Works under moderate supervision acquires and applies maturing knowledge of the business, its products, and processes.
Evaluate and verify applications determining whether borrower will be able to repay the loan by performing a detailed income verification (Income Verification and analysis)Verify income and employment information, Review credit history, including Bankruptcy, Fraud alerts, Bankruptcy Discharge, Delinquency and Foreclosures. (Credit Review and Analysis)
Calculate the value of the borrower s collateral and assets (Asset Review and Analysis)Ensure that the property specifications and loan terms meet Bank s requirements and government regulations.
Skills Required: Must have excellent reading and comprehension skills.

Must have knowledge pertaining to the regulations governing mortgage lending.

Minimum RequirementsBachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
4 to 6 years of overall banking experience with a minimum of 3 years experience in residential Mortgage Underwriting for Conventional/FHA/VA loans.
Willingness to work in night shifts
- Participate in planning and forecasting exercise with onshore and business associates
- Create financial reports on costs and allocations and perform analysis on various cuts for presentation to management and business groups
- Identify and implement improvements in formats and templates used for reporting and analysis
- Ensure that all SLAs are met, measured and reported to the clients on agreed frequency
- Run the governance with clients and maintain action logs to record, track and close the issues
- Act as first escalation point of contact for all service delivery related matters
- Conduct team meetings, collect information on people issues and implement actions to address them.
- Review of deliverables on defined parameters.
- Continuous process improvements to create capacities.
- Build, own and improve internal controls in the processes
